How to Participate

You may have seen a flyer or card about this study or may have been invited by your peers. To be eligible to participate, you need to have injected drugs within the past six months, be 18 years old or older, speak English and live in the Greater Detroit area.

All participation is confidential. We will not ask for your name or address.

Survey Interviews

Interviews are appointment based. We take walk-ins as time allows.

When you arrive, in person or online, you will be greeted by one of our field researchers who will administer a short screening questionnaire to verify your eligibility. If eligible, you will be asked to take a survey that will take about 20-30 minutes.

The survey process is private. You’ll wear ear buds as you listen to audio-recorded questions that ask about your health status and current and past drug use.

At the completion of the survey, we’ll provide $40 as a token of appreciation. If your appointment is in person, the $40 will be in cash. If your appointment is over a video call, we’ll text you a link to a $40 Visa gift card.

Participate in Person or over a Video Call

Interviews take place at one of our Greater Detroit locations or by video call. To participate by video call, you must have Internet access.
